(Jakarta) A delegation of entrepreneurs, including Wong Chun-tat, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Youth Committee, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Elite Association; Hung Wai-man, Honorary Chairman for Life of the Hong Kong Elite Association; Executive Vice Chairmen Chen Kun and He Pei-lin; and Vice Chairwoman Huang Li-fang, visited The Youth Division of the Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association at 11:30 am on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. They were warmly welcomed by Zhou Weiliang, Secretary-General of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association; Yao Hanbin, Director of the Youth Division; and directors Chen Jinhua, Qiu Licheng, Huang Enyi, Lei Zijun, and Chen Huimin.

Director Yao Hanbin stated that Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, re-established in 2001, is a nationwide non-profit Chinese business association established in accordance with Indonesian laws and regulations. Headquartered in Jakarta, it has branches in many regions throughout Indonesia, and its member companies cover a wide range of industries including manufacturing, mining, forestry, real estate, logistics, finance, and retail. Since its establishment, we have always adhered to the principle of "uniting Chinese businesses and promoting Indonesia's economic development," widely attracting prominent figures from society, actively participating in Indonesia's economic development, and promoting exchange and cooperation between Indonesian Chinese and global Chinese businesses.

In March 2017, Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association established a Youth Division targeting the new generation of entrepreneurs, focusing on cultivating and supporting a new generation of young Chinese entrepreneurs and encouraging them to actively participate in Indonesia's economic development. The Youth Department regularly holds thematic seminars and lectures, providing council members with timely professional interpretations of government policies and industry information, promoting exchange and intellectual exchange.

Yao Hanbin said, "We possess unique resource advantages. Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia, with approximately 280 million people, making it the fourth most populous country in the world. Its high proportion of young people provides a solid demographic dividend for long-term economic growth. Abundant mineral, agricultural, and energy resources, vast land, and rich marine resources inject strong momentum into Indonesia's economy. The Indonesian government continuously optimizes the business environment, actively promotes foreign investment-friendly policies, deepens investment regulation reforms, accelerates digital infrastructure construction, lowers investment thresholds, and ensures that foreign-invested enterprises enjoy convenience and protection."

In the third quarter of 2025, Indonesia's GDP grew by 4.95% year-on-year, demonstrating strong economic resilience. Despite a complex and volatile international situation, the Indonesian economy remains robust, with strong domestic demand, a rebound in exports, and strong performance in both the manufacturing and service sectors, providing investors with substantial opportunities and confidence.

In the first half of 2025, total social investment in Indonesia reached approximately US$57.4 billion, of which foreign direct investment (FDI) amounted to US$26.34 billion, accounting for 45.9%. Hong Kong, as the second largest source of FDI, invested approximately US$4.6 billion, second only to Singapore.

Yao Hanbin said, "I particularly commend Hong Kong for its irreplaceable bridging role as an international financial and trade hub in promoting economic exchange and cooperation between China and Indonesia. The vitality and innovation of Hong Kong's young entrepreneurs are admirable. It is thanks to your active participation and contributions that our cooperation has become more diversified and in-depth. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will, as always, wholeheartedly provide comprehensive policy consultation and support for Hong Kong enterprises visiting Indonesia for inspections, exchanges, and investments. I sincerely wish you all a successful and fruitful trip to Indonesia."

Huang Jinda, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), first expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality of The Youth Division of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association. He noted that the CGCC has always been a cornerstone of Hong Kong's business community. With 6,000 corporate and entrepreneurial members, the CGCC is committed to promoting economic growth, trade cooperation, and cross-border partnerships—not only in Hong Kong, but also regionally and more broadly.

The Young Entrepreneurs Council (YEC), as the youth committee of the CGCC, is dedicated to connecting young entrepreneurs with the CGCC's mission. The Hong Kong Elite Association, established in 2007, is dedicated to promoting the development of Hong Kong's youth. Our membership encompasses all sectors of Hong Kong society, including young entrepreneurs, professionals, community leaders, and Legislative Council members—including 15 Legislative Council members from different districts and 38 district councilors.

Huang Jinda pointed out that we believe youth innovation and connectivity are the driving forces of the future economy. Therefore, we are committed to consolidating Hong Kong's position as a global business hub, building bridges between Mainland China, ASEAN, and international markets. As the current secretariat of the World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC), the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce actively promotes global business cooperation and cultural exchanges, and is committed to fostering collaborative development between Chinese businesses and the international business community.

Huang Jinda said that Hong Kong is Indonesia's second-largest source of foreign investment, and the two sides enjoy close economic and trade relations. The relationship between the General Chamber of Commerce and the Indonesian Chinese General Chamber of Commerce is even closer. Today, to strengthen exchanges and connections between the two sides, I have brought dozens of young representatives from various sectors of Hong Kong. To our friends in Indonesia: whether in trade, innovation, or sustainable development, we are your partners, and we look forward to welcoming you to Hong Kong in the near future!
